Scrapbooking crosses all generations. We scrap out our families, events and celebrations. I would like to offer an April Challenge. The challenge is to scrap the #1 song on the day of a special occasion in your family. It could be your birthday, your husband's or parent's birthday or your children's birthday. Post your links here in the blog by April 30, 2010. I am negotiating with one of my designers to provide a "gift" to be awarded to the winner by poll. The winning layout will be featured on our Facebook page.
I hope to have many participants in this fun challenge. Thank you in advance for participating.

The last day of March...
It's been an interesting month.. I am thankful for all the blessings I have had this month and welcomed spring with open arms. I turned a new milestone, 60 years young and had my car stolen (3/30). It is an inconvenience that this has happened however I am on the mend. Emotionally, we take things so personally that we can make ourselves sick. I have an outpour of love and virtual hugs and prayers offered for me in this instance and I am satisfied that better things are on the way.
They come everyday

Well just when you think things are going to be different, something happens. I went out this morning to the store and drove my car. I came in and went back out an hour later and it was gone. Yes gone. I called for assistance and they said they would look into it. The neighbors said a tow truck picked it up. I called around and found out that someone (while I was in the hospital) used my car, got tickets and didn't pay them nor did they tell me that I had tickets. So, it was impounded. Of course your saying to yourself, hey they should just own up to it and give you money to help get it out right? Okay, no one is taking responsibility for them. This means I can not:
I can't make lemonade with this mess.
- Go to my doctor appointments
- Can't go to therapy appointments
- Can't make lawyer appointments
I can't make lemonade with this mess.

Spring Avatar
One of my challenges today was to do a new "avatar"... Here is what I came up with..Let me know what you think of it.
SherrysScraps, Starlight
I enjoyed working with this kit. It's full of bright, sparkly and beautiful papers and elements. It screams "spring" when you open it up. Here is my celebration using "Starlight":
Simply adorable.
Two looks from the same kit, you can't get more versatile than that.

Spring Breeze by Paris Designs
You know it's spring when the color of the digital kits you get are soft pinks and blues, flowery and beautiful. I chose this designer because her work is so beautiful. She captures the embodiment of spring in her latest kit, Spring Breeze. Here are my layouts celebrating "spring breeze":

March 25th.. My birthday
Today is a special day. For those who grew up in the 60's, we didn't have a sense of what it would be like 45 - 50 years later... in the year 2010. Well I'm here to tell you I have accomplished the task of hitting that big 60 birthday. As my daughter says, I'm 39 + 21, both of these are great ages to be and combined, they are FANTASTIC!

Join the discussion
I am addicted to digital scrapbooking. Yes I am. at this computer looking for scrapping stuff almost all day long. Yep.. today I timed myself and I was on the computer for 11 hours.. not straight but 11 hours. I have over 1 terabyte of digital scrapbooking stuff.
While digital scrapbooking is addictive, it's also fulfilling. You can tell your story through the digital creations you make. If you are a digiscrapper, join me for discussions. Share your organizational ideas, your favorite designers, your favorite techniques, do you aspire to be a designer, on a creative team. Tell us about you.
Hugs my fellow scrappers.... WhimsyOne.

Scrappers Anonymous.
I must need an intervention. I can't seem to get away from the computer. I am always looking for scrapping to do. Is there anyone else that does this? Am I alone in this mess?
I was searching today for information on designing. Yes I want to know how to design a few kits but then I wanted to do posers. They are so cute and the story you can tell is worth a 1000 words. I felt like I was spinning out of control actually. I have over 1 terabyte of kits, elements, papers, etc going back to when I started in 2006. Some of the kits belong to designers long gone from the scrapbooking world, others are really very new. I have over 2 gigs of "freebies".. Scrapbooking is addictive. I think I need help. Anyone holding a Scrappers Anonymous meeting?
I am pulling myself away from the keyboard...:-)
Night all!

Spring is upon us...
Tomorrow afternoon, Spring arrives on the East Coast. To mark the start of the season, Rita's Water Ice is giving away free "water ice". Every year the company does it. The flavor that is the most popular is "MANGO".. one of my favorites. If you have a Rita's in your area, make sure you are there early. The lines form quickly. Take a pic and post it to usher in "Spring".
Scrapping MizzKitten
Kit: Sweet Thing
A very versatile kit.. see the difference.. one is simple and one is a little more elaborate. I loved working on this kit and you can find it at Kreative Kreations Korner.

Challenge #11 Humpty Dumpty Challenge
Welcome to Polka Dot Plum's ADSR Humpty Dumpty Challenge. The designers here at Polka Dot Plum created this plum gorgeous template, a really unique layout for you racers to use, and then our kids got a hold of it. Yes, 5 minutes away to answer the phone, and this is what was left of a beautiful layout. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to take this template and put it back together again. Now, how you do that will be entirely up to you and your partner. Each team must take these template parts and create 2 entirely different layouts(one from each of you). Each piece must be used at least once, and you are welcome to resize, recolor, transform, use as a clipping mask, but the basic shape must still be there. The grey "photo spots" do not necessarily need to hold the pictures. You may also add anything else you feel fits your artistic vision. These come as a layered PSD file and separate png files, so any program should be able to use it. We can't wait to see what you ADSR creative geniuses create for us!
If you have any questions, we will be available anytime between 9am EST and 9pm EST. Please visit our ADSR Q & A section in our forum or email us at: customerservice AT polkadotplum DOT com

ADSR Challenge #10
Team work definitely reared it's wonderful head in this challenge. The object was to collaborate with you partner on a layout about what inspires you to scrap. My life and family inspire me and my partner and I are so in tune with each other, that what I thought would be a real challenge was actually a lot of fun to work on. Our combined LO is beautiful. Kudos to Gina @KiKeKa Scraps for her kit Where Fairies Live.
Here is our collaborative effort for this great challenge:
Qadirah (Sonogram just received of newest grandchild)
Precious baby, all brand new,
a welcome to the world to you.
May life be filled with joy and love
from those on earth and God above.
May you be blessed with friends & health,
which truly is your greatest wealth.
Lajuana (aging Aunt Allie Rae great-aunt to my DGS Luke and DGD Avery)
Our beloved Aunt Allie Rae is 91 and has had some health issues the past year. We know she won’t be with us much longer. Watching her grow weaker is so hard, but this precious time together is making our circle grow stronger!

Copper Mist by WildCat Designs
This was such a beautifully subdued yet elegant kit to work with. So versatile. I loved the muted colors and the elements which played well together. In one layout, I could play up the white space while in another I could use a canvas background. Stunning kit.

Challenge #8 - Someday
I wanted to start off my "someday" with some practical observations. After 6 decades, my someday's have changed from time to time. Today, my someday means striving for: good health, being debt free, losing a few pounds, getting my blood pressure under control, take a leisurely cruise and embrace changing my "someday's" to today! Onward and upward..
